Join us as we welcome guest soloist Paul Duffy on March 26 at 8pm at the Lassiter Concert Hall in Marietta. Paul is a multi-instrumentalist who gained widespread fame as the soprano cornet soloist of the UK’s renowned Black Dyke Band. He has an impressive performance resume and has thrilled audiences with his dynamic playing style for years. Paul will be featured on Eb cornet, trumpet, and trombone. He will also play some piano, perhaps even while simultaneously playing a brass instrument. Items he will perform include Carnival of Venice, Don’t Get Around Much Any More, and When the Saints. The band has just returned from a trip to Fort Wayne, IN for the North American Brass Band Association Championships where we took second place in our division and were the top-ranked American band. We will present Gareth Wood’s Brass Triumphant, which was the test piece for the competition. This will be the band’s first performance at Lassiter and we are looking forward to playing in this wonderful facility. The Lassiter High School brass ensemble will also be on the program. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors and will be available at the door.
