Kyle has played Trumpet & Cornet for most of his life. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education. Over the years, Kyle has studied with a number of teachers, including Fred Mills, Edward Sandor, John Merriman, and Larry Black.
During his college years, Kyle performed with a wide variety of ensembles, including playing lead trumpet with both the Jacksonville State University Jazz ensemble and the University of Georgia Jazz band, performing as a trumpet soloist with the JSU Marching Southerners, a soprano soloist with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps, and as principal trumpet of Wind Ensembles at both JSU and UGA.
After a brief career as a band director and 2 years of additional post-graduate work in music, Kyle moved into the technology field, where he has worked for over 20 years and is now running his own software development company. Kyle has continued to play as a hobby over the years and found a love for brass band as a member and soloist with the Roman Festival Brass in Rome, Georgia. In 2013, Kyle auditioned for a spot with the Georgia Brass Band and has been a member of the cornet section since.
